Sindh Chief Secretary, Dr Mutawakkil Kazi has asked the additional chief secretary local government and secretary finance to ensure two year audit of City District Government Karachi and district governments in Sindh.
Presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, he directed that all bottlenecks in the way of maintaining financial discipline must be removed and DCOs, being the principal account officer of respective districts, should adopt the chartered financial procedure and powers in this regard as per SLGO.
He called for expeditious release of allocated funds by the finance department to district governments, so that funding problem may not block the development works in any district.
Dr Mutawakkil Kazi asked the district governments to plan and establish "Education City" in their districts, preferably in the centres of districts.
