imageAs we all know that it is a month of Ramadan. We can’t avoid food. Some people eat too much in this month and some find shortcuts for the convenience. They might be waiting for the disaster.

Eliminate pre-cut fruits: In some stores, many of the stores sell fruits which have already been cut. People feel that it is convenient to take cut fruits from markets rather than cutting at home. Some fruits such as melon cantaloupe heal naturally harbor bacteria due to their soft outer covering. Doug Powell (food safety scientist) explains when this fruit is cut, any bacteria on the crust is pushed down into the part that's absorbed. In recent years considering that Salmonella outbreaks related to cantaloupe have made headlines, it's best to play it safe. In the case of cantaloupe, refrain from eating ones that have been pre-cut and resting on shelves for a while and instead, select whole foods that can be cut at home and then kept cool in a refrigerator.

Avoid plastic: Many of the food market stores do this, storing foods in open and non-refrigerated areas. "This is the microbiological disaster waiting to happen," Powell warned. "Bacteria will grow if left out at warm temperatures long enough." According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, more than 90 percent of the general population has BPA in their body. Additionally, don't store leftovers in plastic containers. The containers typically contain disrupts hormones, making it a very unhealthy storage option. Use glass containers it is a most Earth-friendly choice to protect you.

Keeping hands and surfaces clean: There are many who supports washing certain foods, such as vegetables and fruits, to remove chemicals residues, but washing raw meat only spreads germs that would have otherwise been harmlessly cooked, experts says. Keeping hands and surfaces clean is really very necessary. It’s important to remain mindful of what activities a person was engaging in prior to food handling, changing diapers, using the restroom, playing with pets and other similar behaviors all require hand-washing with warm soapy water. Keep your eye on silverware and utensils are very important, as it applies to cross-contamination. Make sure enjoy salad from clean plates, not one that may have been holding a raw piece of meat from that barbecue bash moments earlier

Don’t buy food in cans and jars: Foods which sold in cans or jars are processed to be uninfected; they can be kept for a long time if can or jar is undamaged, but there can be a possibility of cracked or loose jars. A cracked jar means catching partial pieces of glass in food which can be dangerous, a loose jar means that its vacuum has been lost and the product may be harmful.

Choose fresh eggs carefully: Before buying eggs in your list, make sure it should be fresh, eggs should not be cracked. Buy only refrigerated eggs.

Cutting boards: Bacteria from uncooked meat, poultry and fish can contaminate cooked foods and fresh produce. An important way to reduce this risk is to use separate cutting boards for raw meat/poultry/fish and produce/cooked foods.

Separate: Separate your food from cross contamination. It is the transfer of harmful bacteria from uncooked foods like meat, fish, and poultry or unclean vegetables and fruits. Separate raw meat, fish and poultry to prevent their juices from dripping onto other foods. This can be done by. Secondly, placing raw meat, fish and poultry in separate plastic bags like one bag for chicken, one bag for fish etc.

Keep your family and children safe by spreading this information because it’s necessary for every human to prevent themselves from the disasters.
