The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to re-open files of certain chronic human traffickers who got their files closed after influencing governments in past, official sources told APP on Thursday.
Sources said that the crackdown launched against human traffickers on the directives of the Federal Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat, has helped Pakistan re-establish its credibility among comity of the nations.
The sources recalled that dozens of human-traffickers were caught in recent months from Punjab region alone that portends firm commitment of the government to smash network of human traffickers.
"The horrifying aspect is that hundreds of youth are rotting in jails abroad as they were lured into the crime by the human traffickers", a senior FIA official dealing Immigration cases told this correspondent.
The sources said that the investigations of human traffickers showed that their close links with their "mentors" who guided their cronies and finally went into hiding, fearing capture by the authorities after the horrible incident of September 11, 2001.
