RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee remained under pressure and marginally lost its value by two-paisa in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets, on Thursday.
There was a slight increase in dollar's demand, which helped appreciation in its worth.
The dollar commenced trading at Rs 57.80 and Rs 57.90 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as compared to Rs 57.78 and Rs 57.88 on Wednesday.
The currency dealers were of the view that mere two-paisa appreciation in dollar's worth indicates that it could take downward trend in a day or so.
As a result, most of the investors remained on the sidelines to avert any loss, the dealers added.
Similarly, the rupee remained weak against the pound sterling. The pound was traded at Rs 105.30 and Rs 105.60 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as compared to Rs 104.40 and Rs 104.70 of Wednesday, the dealers added.
