Government should divert all its attention towards the social and economic reforms in the country which would help in obtaining economic stability and productivity in the Industrial sector, said Hussain Ahmed Ozgen, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Wednesday.
He was addressing a seminar on "Productivity and Quality Improvement through Stress Management".
The seminar was jointly organised by RCCI and National Productivity Organisation (NPO) in Khalid Waheed Auditorium of RCCI.
President RCCI while expressing his views on this occasion said that social and economic development meant bringing positive changes in the system and leading people towards a bright future.
He said productivity was essential for the economic progress, prosperity and the well being of a country and its people.
RCCI chief stressed on the need to create awareness about the "Productivity" in the industrial sector as well as all other pertinent sectors, which are the part of the socio-economic structure of the country.
He mentioned that the manufacturing sector which was the second largest sector of economy contributed Rs 609.1 billion is 18.4 percent to the country's GDP with the engagement of 11.2 percent of the labour force and said that it contributed more than 80 percent to the total export earning.
In view of upcoming challenges of globalisation and free market Ozgen said that there was a strong need for an integrated approach between the public sector and private sector entrepreneurs for the requisite sustainable growth.
He hailed the efforts made by the NPO for imparting awareness among the industrialists and entrepreneurs so that they could be able to enhance the productivity.
These kinds of seminars and workshops would help the business community to wipe out the misconceptions and difficulties and would also help them to run their business accordingly, he added.
