Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has launched pre-paid billing card system to facilitate its consumers, said Mashkoor Hussain, Senior Executive Vice President (Business Development and Marketing) PTCL.
Talking to a group of journalists on Friday, Mashkoor said that PTCL customers can straightaway pay their telephone bills without going anywhere through any PTCL phones by simply dialling 1226.
Customers can deposit their current month's telephone bill through prepaid cards, which have been made available at all PTCL customer service centres and other outlets at prominent places.
He said that this initiative is part of government's special directives for improved facilitation of customers. PTCL, in line with the guidelines of the Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, has chalked out comprehensive plans for the facilitation of the customers.
He stated that initially this service has been introduced in big cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Multan, D.I. Khan, Sukkur, Abbottabad, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Sargodha.
This service will ensure timely payment of telephone bills without the burden of standing in long queues in the banks. Cards would be easily available 300, 500, 700, 1000 and 2000 rupees denominations.
This method would enable customers to pay their bills from any PTCL telephone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, at their own convenience.
It may be mentioned that PTCL had also signed agreements with Askari Commercial Bank and Muslim Commercial Bank for the e-payment billing system.
The kiosk/e-payment is facilitating the telephone customers to make payment of their monthly telephone bills through Automatic Tellers Machines (ATMs)/and Point of Sale Terminals (POS), 24 hours a day without wasting their time in long queues in harsh weather conditions.
The facility can be availed by the PTCL customers who are holding MCB / ACBL ATM Cards, MCB Cash/Debit Cards etc.
