District government is working for regional uplift to raise the standard of life of the masses, said District Nazim Sultan Hameed.
He was presiding over a meeting on Friday to review work on the uplift schemes under the Annual Development Program-me (ADP).
He said as many as 775 projects of different departments and sectors would be completed at a total cost of Rs 375.2 million for the welfare of the people.
These included 284 road schemes, 255 rural electrification projects, 60 education projects, 108 sewerage schemes, 12 Sui gas provision projects, 12 sports and culture projects, nine office buildings works, nine health department schemes, two IT projects etc.
Till now, he said, 271 schemes had been approved by the district development committee, with an estimated cost of Rs 191.4 million.
He urged officials of the nation-building departments to accelerate the tempo of development work, ensuring honest and effective utilisation of public funds.
