Sada Welfare Foundation (SWF) organised a two-day exhibition 'Expo-2004' to raise funds for sick and poor children of National Institute of Child Health (NICH).
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Assembly Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah lauded the efforts of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in educating people in different walks of life.
He particularly mentioned Dr Adeebul Hasan Rizvi's example, whose institution is known throughout South Asia.
He urged them to expand their work to rural areas where people need attention and added that the government alone could not provide all facilities to people.
He said that children are our future and SWF's efforts for them deserve highest gratitude.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mohtarma Fatima Surriya Bajia who is patron of the SWF on Saturday. About 26 multinational and local firms participated in the exhibition.
SWF works for children suffering from tuberculosis, renal diseases, and diabetes and also arranges blood.
Chairperson Fawzia Siddiqui, director, NICH, Professor Dr Zeenat Issani, Fatima Surriya Bajia, Jimmy Engineer, trustees and patrons were also present on the occasion. Awards were also distributed among the participants.
