Bollywood star Sunil Shetty has expressed the optimism that relations between India and Pakistan would become 'more close and friendly' with people-to-people contact and frequent exchange of delegations between the two countries.
Talking to Business Recorder at the lobby of a local five-star hotel on Saturday night, Sunil maintained that he is 'delighted' with his maiden visit to Pakistan.
"I am extremely delighted on my first visit to Pakistan and in future I would pay more visits because people of both India and Pakistan are brothers," he remarked.
Sunil further said that he is here to witness the cricket match between India and Pakistan, and 'the ongoing series between the two countries is giving further boost to the game of cricket in the subcontinent in particular and the rest of the world in general.'
Answering a question, he stated that co-operation between the two countries in different fields, including film industry, is essential for the benefit of people of the two countries.
Meanwhile, a large number of people, including girls and children, thronged into the local five star hotel where Pakistani and Indian teams were staying to have a glimpse of the cricketers.
Pakistani skipper Inzimam and other cricketers gave autographs to their fans. People present on the occasion prayed for the success of Pakistani team in the Sunday's match.
Moreover, stringent security measures were adopted at local hotels where Indian and Pakistani cricketers' as well as Indian visitors were staying. Policemen in uniform as well as special commandos accompanied the members of both the teams.
