ISLAMABAD: Former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has condemned the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, United States.
Pervez Musharraf, in a statement, extended his condolences to the American people. Extremism and terrorism were on the rise, he said, adding that the perpetrators of such attacks belonged to no country, believed in no religion and were primarily driven to destabilize all societies.
"We must show resolve and demonstrate strong leadership to crush terrorists and eliminate extremism. We must address the root-causes of global terrorism to suck the oxygen out of the extremist narrative of hate, intolerance, bigotry and the promotion of obscurantist ideology that is radicalizing vulnerable Muslims around the world."
