Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition filed by Abdul Sattar Lasi against the decision of High Court and upheld the decision to auction his property to recover the loan.
The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Mian Muhammad Ajmal and Justice Falak Sher dismissed the petition of Abdul Sattar Lasi, who is brother of former federal minister Akbar Lasi.
Abdul Sattar Lasi, who got loan of Rs 800 million from Saudi Pak Bank but did not pay it and the Bank filed a petition demanding the court to give permission to auction his property to recover the amount along with interest.
The High Court while accepting the petition of the Bank to auction the property to recover the amount.
Senator Wasim Sajjad representing Abdul Sattar Lasi argued before the court that recovery of the loan with interest through auction of the property is illegal.
Advocate Nafees Siddiqui appeared on behalf of Saudi Pak Bank.
