By the grace of Allah and through the dedicated efforts of the Exports Excellence Award Committee, PRGMEA is organising the 6th Export Excellence Awards Ceremony.
The most important aim of the export Excellence Awards is to recognise the efforts and contributions of the important players of this industry earning the largest amount of foreign exchange for the country.
These exporters are consistently performing well despite all the hardships they face due to various domestic and international reasons. I offer my sincerest congratulation's to all the winners of export excellence awards
Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association, which came into being in 1985, has expanded its activities by leaps and bounds.
It is the largest value- added textile association of Pakistan with Zonal offices in Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot.
These offices are working day and night to serve our member exporters which number more than 1200. It contributes more than $1.00 billion in foreign exchange and our trade directly employs, thousand of workers, ladies and gents, in our member manufacturing units.
It has two technical training institutes in Karachi and Lahore, which are operating successfully, and imparting training to the workers in several disciplines related to the garment trade.
The way the readymade garments industry is working for its survival inspite of innumerable problems is unbelievable.
We have to prepare ourselves for the textile quota free era due to begin from the year 2005. If Government agencies become co-operative in solving day to day problems, it will allow the industry to concentrate its energy in finding way and means to draw workable plans to attract International market to sell qualitative and competitive products in competition with other international competitors.
The association recognises the contribution of the top ten garment exporters and also appreciates the efforts of exporters for their contribution to the value addition.
The awards we are presenting to them are a way of expressing our pride in them for standing out in the garment exporter community. I am hopeful that with the grace of God the industry will flourish and prosper.
