Parsons Delaware Inc has won a contract worth up to $900 million to build "security and justice facilities" in Iraq and facilities for US-backed Iraqi forces, adding to its windfall, the Pentagon said on Friday.
The privately held company, based in Pasadena, California, was awarded a separate deal on Thursday worth up to $500 million for the construction and renovation of public buildings in Iraq.
The work is to be carried out under the US-led Coalition Provisional Authority and funded by $18.6 billion in reconstruction approved by the US Congress.
Parsons is part of a joint venture with Worley Group of Australia performing up to $800 million worth of work to restore Iraq's northern oil infrastructure.
In addition, it has part of a $1.8 billion infrastructure deal awarded in January by the US Agency for International Development to Bechtel, a privately held engineering company.
Bidding for the construction work was restricted to companies from nations that supported the US-led ouster a year ago of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
