Range-bound trading was again witnessed in the interbank market at the weekend as the rupee did not show any major change in its overnight levels for buying and selling at Rs 57.51 and Rs 57.53, respectively.
The market men said the rupee held its prevailing levels due to balanced demand and supply of the dollar, which gave up its weakness versus the leading currencies in the international markets.
KERB RATES: : The rupee managed to hold its present levels in terms of the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 57.73 and Rs 57.78, while it recovered 13 paisa against the euro for buying and selling at Rs 70.03 and Rs 70.33.

LAHORE:
The rupee closed the week on a negative note, as it shed its value by five-paisa in relation to the greenback on the local currency markets.The dollar resumed trading at overnight closing rates of Rs 57.80 and Rs 57.90 on buying and selling counters, respectively. Following increase in demand, dollar's rate started moving up and finally it closed higher at Rs 57.85 on buying side while selling rate remained unchanged at Rs 57.90, the dealers said. Most of the currency dealers stopped selling the dollar.
Moreover, the rupee showed appreciation in its worth against the British currency. The Pound was purchased at Rs 104.90 and sold at Rs 105.00 as compared with Friday's closing rates of Rs 105.10 and Rs 105.50, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 57.70 (buying) and Rs 57.80 (selling) against the same last rates. It did not observe any further change in the second spell and closed at Rs 57.70 (buying) and Rs 57.80 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 105 (buying) and Rs 105.20 (selling) against the same previous rates. It did not observe any further change in the second session and closed at Rs 105 (buying) and Rs 105.20 (selling).
Canadian dollar opened at Rs 43.20 (buying) and Rs 43.30 (selling) against the same last rates. It did not observe any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 43.20 (buying) and Rs 43.30 (selling).
