Syria's state grains agency has decided to postpone a tender to sell and export 50,000 tonnes of durum wheat, plus or minus five percent, export sources said on Tuesday.
A statement by the Syrian General Establishment for Cereal Processing and Trade issued last week said it was seeking to ship the wheat in April and May after setting a bid deadline for 0800 GMT on March 30. Sources said the agency had chosen to delay the sale because it was unhappy with the prices offered.
The agency sold 25,000 tonnes of soft wheat to Mauritania early last week at $190.50 or $195.50, according to European traders.
