Member of the Executive Committee, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Zahidullah Shinwari has urged upon the exporters, investors, taxpayers and traders to collect form for participation in the Businessman of the Year and Export Trophy awards of the chamber.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Shinwari said that with the early registration with SCCI, their names would be included in this healthy competition among business community.
He said that the decision of the Sarhad Chamber to award the outstanding businessmen is a good omen for the economic development of the province.
He was of the view that this healthy competition would not only encourage trade, industry and investment in the province, but would also create opportunity for the businessmen of the province to come forward and promote their international trade.
Zahidullah Shinwari said that NWFP is economically backward federating unit of the country and the people carrying business activities here really deserve prizes and awards, saying that in such a situation the decision of the Sarhad Chamber is not less than a ray of hope for the businessmen of the province.
Criticising on the critics of the holding of award and trophy function by Sarhad Chamber, he said those elements are sincere in economic development and business community of the province and through such acts they are unveiling questions on their mental health.
He said that chamber had barred no one from participation in the competition, saying any one deserve himself for these award and trophy and he could obtained a form from SCCI to participate in it.
Dispelling the impression of any kind of manipulation in the competition, Shinwari, who also heads a number of standing committees of the chamber, said that the process would be completed in a very fair and transparent manner.
He added that decision in this connection would be made strictly on merit.
He expressed the hope that award and trophy winning would go long way in the promotion of the business of the winners and would get opportunity to exploit their capability in a better manner.
