We, Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, being the important stakeholders in the energy sector, playing our role quite satisfactorily and assisting the Government in its efforts for development & improvement of oil sector.
We know the importance of oil industry in the country very well, if this sector develops and improves, the economy of the country improves and if Pakistan makes itself self sufficient in oil that means billions of dollars are saved and that amount may be diverted for betterment and welfare of poor people and so the Govt. may succeed in elimination of poverty.
The day we succeeded in it, it will be historic day and it will be tremendous achievement of the Government.
We are doing our duties and raising to all the occasions required to assist the Government and now Government should also realise and take notice of the grievances and difficulties the petroleum dealers are facing.
The Government should solve the problems to make the task easier and quicker for the dealers and they may do business with peace of mind and tranquillity.
Taking advantage of the occasion, we are putting before the Govt. some of our problems through the courtesy of Business Recorder:-
1.- We are much grateful to the Government for increasing our commission but would request to make our commission 5% as per agreement between us.
2.- The procedure in all Government departments linked with oil industry are unnecessarily lengthy and difficult, need to be shortened and easier so that we may save time & money to divert them to our business.
3.- Malpractice's and undue harassment by the Government officials are unbearable, due to which dealers and Government both are suffering much.
Unscrupulous elements are gaining illegally very much giving great loss to Government Exchequer and creating hurdles in our business.
4.- New connections or enhancement in power load is great problem, KESC/WAPDA be instructed to do jobs promptly.
5.- City Government do not co-operate with us and takes much time for a simple work.
6.- To establish a new petrol pump, NOCs from many departments like Ministry of Petroleum, City Government, Explosive, HDIP etc are required, be minimised.
7.- Decoities at petrol pumps are routine of day, many lives and valuables have been lost, Government should secure our lives & valuables.
8.- Illegal oil depots are selling smuggled oil due to it, our business is deteriorating, these shops should be closed at once.
9.- To save human lives, illegal business of LPG be stopped, sub-LPG cylinders may explode any time killing innocents.
