Restructuring of the Sindh Education Department is on the cards, Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkal Kazi stated this while talking to a delegation of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) here on Friday.
He said that the restructuring is being carried out with a view to resolving the problems that are being faced in the realms of education at various levels.
Dr Kazi pointed out that the National Economic Council (NEC) has decided that the development funds would not lapse for three years.
The implementation of this decision would result in every sphere including that of the education sector, he added.
On the viewpoint of the SPLA delegation that any deviation from the existing procedure for the appointment in the Education Department would affect the academic standards, Dr Kazi said that he has persuaded the Chairman of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) to play his role in this respect.
The Chief Secretary said that the cases regarding the arrears, etc of the teachers would also be settled accordingly.
Dr Kazi urged the teachers and academicians to undertake effective steps for improving the standard of education and devote themselves fully towards imparting knowledge to the students.
Sindh Secretary Finance, Malik Israr Hussain, said that matters pertaining to SNE in respect of the settled points, are being implemented in a phased manner.
The delegation was led by Professor Riaz Ahsen and included Manzoor Hussain Chishti, Agha Khalid Hussain, Ather Hussain, Iftikhar Azmi and Sher Khan.
