The Minister of State for Culture, Rais Munir Ahmad said on Saturday that the government was providing all possible facilities to the showbiz people for promoting film industry.
He was addressing the 46th Nigar Public Film awards distribution ceremony in Lahore.
He held the show biz people responsible, for the downfall of the film industry by producing film stories, which were incompatible with the culture and customs of our society.
"Only creative and purposeful films can gain popularity among the peoples," he added.
He said the ratio of women visiting cinema houses decreased rapidly due to unfavourable conditions in the cinema halls, substandard production, unrealistic and full of action film stories.
The minister said that film department had already got the status of industry and those, who were producing good films were awarded with national film awards to encourage them to produce even better films.
