The police have traced three culprits involved in a complicated double murder case of rape and killing two minor girls Sassi and Hajra in the vicinity of Memon Goth, Gadap Town. Two people were arrested, while third suspect is still at large.
This was informed by Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, during a press conference here on Tuesday.
He said the names of the people involved in this execrable incident are Haji Peeral, his son Zahid Peeral and Hanif Baidja.
While giving details, Kamal Shah said the arrest of culprits wanted in rape and murder cases was a difficult task and the police had to face tremendous problems in carrying out investigation, as the residents of the area were against the police force and were holding police responsible for this incident.
He said that after hectic efforts the investigators traced the culprits who were also involved in agitating the area people against police, besides involvement in drugs business.
The culprits wanted to avenge the police for initiating investigation against them and incited the area people against the force after happening of the incident, he added.
But suspicious activities of Haji Peeral lead the investigators to trace the real culprits as he was seen hanging around in the surroundings of Memon Goth Police Station.
These culprits invited the minor girls to collect woods from an area adjacent to Memon Goth Graveyard and later raped Hajra and axed her to death, whereas Sassi was killed with a bullet fired in her head.
The three alleged, later took the corpses of both the girls in trolley and threw them near the premises of the police station to put the blame on the force.
Kamal Shah said the trolley used for transportation of bodies has also been recovered from the house of Haji Peeral.
