Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah has stressed strict security measures taken at all important points on the gas pipeline network, especially passing through the provincial borders of Sindh and Balochistan.
He warned the police personnels for stern action would be taken, if they were found negligent in performing their duties at gas pipeline network at the bordering areas of both the provinces.
He further asked the police for patrolling be made effective particularly during nights, while presiding over a high level meeting at Central Police Office to discuss security relater affairs of gas pipeline network of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
He assured the gas utility for all possible co-operation related to security of gas pipeline.
He asked it to provide detailed information in this regard so that appropriate steps could be taken for safety of pipeline.
He directed the police officers to keep contact with officers of gas company (SSGC) at district and regional levels in view of the current situation.
The Deputy General Manager Security of SSGC appreciated the measures taken for ensuring security of gas pipeline and offered vehicles by SSGC for police patrolling.
The meeting was also attended by the Joint Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Deputy General Manager Security Sui Southern Gas Company Limited Brigadier Mukhtar Ahmad (Retd), CCPO Karachi, Asad Ashraf Malik, DIG Special Branch, Regional Police Officers (RPOs) of Hyderabad and Sukkur.
