The solution to all problems confronting human beings lies in the teachings of Islam, and the people can achieve the goal of peace by following the universal principles of Islam.
These views were expressed by Punjab Special Education Minister Qudsia Lodhi while addressing a moot on the topic of 'Islam and Mental Health', organised by International Conference of the Pakistan Association of Clinical Psychologists (PACP) here on Saturday.
Qudsia said Islamic laws have already spelt out the relationships among human beings, adding parents have various responsibilities towards their children.
The minister said that Islam has defined rights of kith and kin, orphans and neighbours.
Since the parameters have already drawn, the job of clinical psychologists becomes relatively easier if they seek guidance from the teachings of Islam, she said, adding that Islam protects people from various mental problems.
PACP President Dr Nosheen K. Rehman, in her address of welcome, said there was a need to focus on prevention programme rather than treatment only, which will be more cost-effective.
