Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) is endeavouring to restore democracy at grassroots level, and needs people to understand the objectives of its policies, said Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din Khan, Punjab Minister for Communication Works.
Addressing a public meeting in connection with the mass contact campaign of PML-Q in Raza Abad here on Saturday, he said being a dynamic political party it wanted to further strengthen its linkages with the people.
He said the Punjab government was concentrating on health, education and law and order, while a massive development programme was being implemented to provide maximum facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
Roads, schools and hospitals were being constructed at local levels to promote economic activity and usher in a new era of progress and prosperity.
Punjab forests minister Chaudhry Ashfaq-ur-Rehman said that the grand success of PML-Q supported councillors in the local bodies by-election was indicative of the confidence reposed again in the party leadership.
It was no wonder, he added, as the government was working to bring a qualitative as well as quantitative improvement in the life of the people. Senator Kamal Ali Agha also addressed the function and urged the people to support the government so it could better implement its welfare agenda.
Earlier, an office of the PML-Q was formally inaugurated in the area by city nazim Chaudhry Mumtaz Ali Cheema.
