Bodies of two Japanese tourists, who were killed in a road accident, were sent to Islamabad in an Army Aviation helicopter on Sunday.
One Japanese national Kazama Xuichi was killed on the spot while three others - Saito Tomoko, Nakashi Mitsuko and Bone Yoko-were seriously injured when a huge landslide hit their vehicle at Pari, 30 kms east of Gilgit, Home Secretary Northern Areas Saeed Ahmed Khan told APP.
Nakashi Mitsuko succumbed to her head injuries after being unconscious for 10 hours in DHQ hospital where injured were rushed in a critical condition, said health official Dr Hanif Khan.
It is to be noted here that heavy rains lashed the mountainous Northern Areas since Friday night due to which mud slides had started to hit the Karakoram Highway.
