After a week of hearing of cases of important nature, the next judicial week opening from Monday at the Supreme Court is going to be of lesser number of benches and smaller number of cases listed.
Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui along with Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has moved the First Bench to Karachi for a week for hearing cases pending at the registry there.
For the principal seat of the Court, he has appointed three benches - one full and three of division strength.
The full bench will comprise Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Justice Rana Baghwandas and Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan. It has nearly 33 cases to hear on the first day those are appeals by the employees of the Afghan refugees' commissioner at Peshawar.
The other cases during the week are appeals against the assessment of income and excise taxes by corporate houses or some appeals against convictions under the Pakistan Penal Code.
OTHER THREE BENCHES CONSIST OF:
SECOND BENCH: Justice Mian Muhammad Ajmal and Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar.
THIRD BENCH: Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah and Justice Khalil-ur-Rahman Ramday.
FOURTH BENCH: Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Falak Sher.
