Saudi Arabian Consulate General has authorised the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (Taap) to depositing Umrah applications and take delivery of visas from the Consulate General.
Taap Chairman Mohammad Nadeem Sharif, in a letter to the Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia, thanked him for the decision, which would go a long way "in providing extraordinary services to the intending pilgrims of Pakistan proceeding to the Holy places of Saudi Arabia."
According to the Taap, travel agents from this year would receive all applications from the intending pilgrims, proceeding for Umrah and forwarded the same to the Taap, which, in turn, would submit the same to the Saudi Consulate General.
The Taap would receive delivery after the visas are affixed and pass on the documents to the concerned travel agents for delivery to the pilgrims. Only authorised travel agents would be entitled to receive Umrah applications.
According to the Taap, Al-Syed/Aroma Travels are the first in the world, which have been approved for this purpose.
