The 9th South Asian Federation (SAF) Games concluded in Islamabad. The opening and closing colourful ceremonies impressed everyone. The crowd and the fans watching TV will always remember these pleasant moments.
I congratulate Lieutenant General Syed Arif Hassan, Chairman, SAF Games Organising Committee, his team, and relevant authorities for making the SAF Games a successful event in spite of postponements due to the prevailing situation.
These games will not only promote sports activities in the region but will also strengthen the relationships between the participating countries.
Media's coverage will also play a vital role in doing so. These games are a symbol of peace and love.
It is clear that Pakistan is a safe country and the most ideal place for sports. The fans understand and love sports and sportsmen.
The player; officials and journalists have expressed their complete satisfaction over the excellent facilities and warm hospitality. Even the Indian Chief de Mission in a TV interview desired to stay in Pakistan.
These are most encouraging remarks. I am sure, this gentleman will convey his feelings to the Indian people to normalise the relations.
The Pakistani players, who performed well during the Games be recognised, which will definitely encourage a better performance in future.
It is hoped that next year in Colombo, the 10th South Asian Games will be staged with the same spirit.
