Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri on Tuesday said, with a democratic set-up in Pakistan, the European Union has no right to interfere in its internal affairs.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday after inaugurating a workshop organised by Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat), the Foreign Minister said there should be no concern of any country about the political developments in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan has fulfilled the international standards regarding democratic set up.
The Foreign Minister said European Union delegation recently visited Pakistan and accepted the revival of democratic institutions and appreciated the freedom being enjoyed by the women and minorities.
Replying to a question about negotiation on the issue of bus service between Muzaffarabad and Srinagar, the Foreign Minister emphasised the need that the negotiations should start as early as possible.
He said the talks between India and Pakistan are not merely a publicity stunt. He said it is in the interest of the people of both the countries, that there should be peace in the region.
The Foreign Minister said the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the aspirations and ambitions of the people of Kashmir.
The minister said Pakistan is providing only moral and political support to the Kashmiris who are struggling for their independence.
He said Kashmiri leadership has to be included in the negotiations on Kashmir issue.
The Foreign Minister said as both India and Pakistan are nuclear states, therefore, it is in their interest to resolve all the disputes through negotiations.
Replying to another question, the Foreign Minister said fight against terrorism is also in the national interest of Pakistan so that better atmosphere could be provided for more foreign investment.
Answering a question, the Minister said Pakistan has very cordial and exemplary relations with China. He said both the countries are co-operating in various fields and extending help to each other.
Referring to operation in Tribal areas, the Foreign Minister said Pakistan did not need any foreign assistance in this regard.
