A delegation of Pakistan Petroleum/CNG Dealers Association, led by its Chairman Abdul Sami Khan, met the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Asad Ashraf Malik and discussed the issues related to unauthorised LPG cylinders being fitted in vehicles, selling of smuggled oil products by illegal oil depots and installing barriers at petrol pumps for security purpose.
He informed the CCPO that fitting of substandard and unauthorised LPG cylinders in rickshaws, taxis and vans was illegal and endangers the lives of people as many fatal accidents have occurred as a result of explosion of LPG cylinders.
The CCPO assured the delegation of prompt action in this regard.
The delegation also demanded action against illegal and unauthorised oil depots selling smuggled oil products.
Sami Khan informed that on the instructions of SSP Securities barriers were constructed at the petrol pumps, which had then been rejected by the dealers and they were asking for new barriers with different designs.
