The Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed former Federal Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) leader Jehangir Badr to go abroad for 20 days.
The court, however, directed him to submit two surety bonds in worth of Rs 5.0 million each for the satisfaction of the registrar of the august court.
The applicant contended that he wanted to visit England in connection with launching ceremony of his book as number of politicians had already been allowed by the august court to go abroad.
He further contended that although he was facing reference proceedings but no charge had so far been proved against him, hence he must be allowed to go abroad.
The court, after hearing petitioner's counsel at length, allowed him to go abroad for 20 days.
It may be mentioned that the applicant is facing charges of corruption and making illegal money in excess of his income.
