The 'United Jehad Council' has asked the Kashmiris not to co-operate in the holding of Indian elections in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The 'council' comprising over a dozen militant organisations fighting Indian rule in occupied Kashmir, in a special meeting held here on Sunday, presided over by Salahuddin, appealed to state employees, transporters and general public in occupied Kashmir to not to co-operate at any level in the upcoming so-called Indian elections.
"Those who will take part in these elections will be deemed as traitors of the Kashmiri nation," UJC declared.
It urged the Mujahideen to provide all assistance to anti-election organisations and individuals for the foiling of election drama.
The UJC meeting vowed to continue target originated actions against the occupation forces and not to allow any to betray the supreme sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs.
The council termed the meeting of some APHC leaders with Indian government as useless and asked them to join Mujahideen for struggle against Indian occupation.
"Some people by ignoring the sacrifices of 500,000 Kashmiris have been visiting corridors of powers in Dehli. We appeal to them to come back and join the ranks of liberation movement," UJC said.
The council also urged former Mujahideen, recently released by India from jails, to not to join those organisation which are controlled by Indian intelligence agencies. "If they want to play any role for liberation of occupied homeland, they should join the movement being led by sincere leadership," UJC said.
There are six electoral constituencies for India's lower house in occupied Kashmir. Polling for two of six constituencies, comprising border district Baramula and Kapwara will be held in first phase of Indian polls on Tuesday, April 20.
Kupwara district borders with AJK's Neelum Valley, and Baramula with Jhelum Valley in Chakothi sector.
