The Punjab government has upgraded six high schools of Multan city, and posted Grade-19 teachers as head masters to these institutions in January 2004, while the Pilot Secondary School was upgraded to Grade-20.
In spite of elapsing three and a half months, the district government failed to accommodate them against their posts due to political pressure or the influence of sitting head master of Grade-17 and Grade-18.
Suhaib Ikram of the Iqbal Secondary School was posted as the head master to the Millat Higher Secondary School in place of Khalif Mohyuddin (Grade-18), but he outright refused to relinquish the charge.
Similarly, Muhammad Siddiq Gujjar of the Ata Faiz-i-Aam Secondary School was posted as the head master to the Jamia-ul-Aloom Secondary School, but sitting Head Master Abdul Hameed Baloch, who is also the president of the Punjab Nationalised Cadre School Teachers Union, refused to vacate the office, and Siddiq Gujjar is still hanging on fire.
Azmat Kamal Babur Niazi was transferred from the Elementary College to the Secondary School Aam-Khas Bagh, but sitting Head Master Muhammad Yasin Dogar (Grade-17), who is a relative of a District Naib Nazim refused to comply with the orders of the Punjab government.
Muhammad Aslam Ansari was posted at the Samijaabad High School in place of Mehr Mushtar Hiraj (Grade-18), but he is a relative of Minister of State Ahmed Raza Hiraj, while Malik Niaz Abid posted to the Muslim High School, Multan, in place of Zubair Aasi to meet the legal requirements of up-gradation.
Zohra Perveen Gardezi was also posted at the Girls High School Haram-Gate in place of Shamim Chaudhry.
They are running from pillar to post to assume the charge, but no one in the district government is ready to resolve their problems. Even District Nazim Riaz Hussain Qureshi was prolonging this matter unnecessarily.
