With regional business and political environment becoming even more conductive and development of infrastructure, it is indeed heartening to see Pakistan fast becoming a hub for international exhibitions where businessmen from around the world are pursing emerging opportunities.
As Pakistan's production, export and range of quality textiles & leather products increases, opportunities for marketing, learning and sharing between suppliers of plant and equipment and Pakistani entrepreneurs offers excellent developmental opportunities for all.
The third IGATEX Pakistan, is yet another step towards exploitation of such opportunities and reflects the confidence amongst the business in Pakistan and the suppliers of the world in the future economic growth of Pakistan.
The Export Promotion Bureau has always taken the initiative to play a proactive role in the capacity enhancement and up gradation of export oriented industry. This is also reflected in the Trade Policy 2003-04 initiatives.
Export and the opportunities arising from exports are a major contributor not only to the foreign exchange earnings of Pakistan, but also generates employment leading to poverty alleviation.
EPB has always endeavoured to extend maximum possible support to increasing both the exports and the export base.
I wish the organisers of this event every success and congratulates them for taking such an initiative reflecting the confidence in the fast improving business environment in Pakistan.
