IT Conference 2004 was held at the Institute of Business Management here on Thursday (April 22).

IT Conference 2004 was held at the Institute of Business Management here on Thursday (April 22).
The main theme was Software Development in Pakistan - Present and Future.
Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly, inaugurated the conference and said that in a world that have now become a global village, hi-tech expertise is a must to survive.
He emphasised that the nation is not up to the minimum acceptable level in quality, education and technology. He held out an assurance that the government would take all possible measures to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the software industry.
Dr Ahmer S. Karim, Dean CCSIS, and Talib S. Karim, director Academics, introduced the structure of the Institute of Business Management. Dr Ejaz Ahmed, Head of the Computer Science Department, briefed about the objective of the conference.
In the first technical session, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Sindh Minister for Information Technology, chaired the session. He elaborated the steps already taken by the present government. He said that the government has established various task forces to address these and other issues.
At the end of the conference, the minister distributed the awards and certificates to the speakers and students.
The second technical session was chaired by chief guest Shoaib Bukhari, Minister Planning and Development, Government of Sindh.-PR
