President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali have sent separate messages of felicitations to Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on their Revolution Day falling on April 24.
In his message, President Musharraf said that the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, determined by common history, geography and culture, were characterised by shared perception on major issues and frequent exchange of high-level visit.
"It is our keen desire to further broaden and deepen the existing ties of friendship and co-operation between our two countries for the mutual advantage of our people," he added.
Musharraf conveyed best wishes for President Karzai's health, happiness and wellbeing as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan.
In his message, Prime Minister Jamali extended on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan as well as on his own behalf warm felicitation to President Karzai and the government and people of Afghanistan.
"It is a matter of immense satisfaction that or two countries have enjoyed close and cordial relations," he added.
Jamali assured President Karzai of Pakistan's abiding and profound interest in reinforcing the existing ties of friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
"I would like to convey our best wishes for your excellency's health, happiness and wellbeing as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan," he added.
