It gives me pleasure to congratulate Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) for transferring formulation and process know how to Marva Beverages (Pvt) Ltd to produce carbonated drinks in different flavours.
This is a step in the right direction because the results of basic research should reach the people.
The industry has a big potential to create job opportunities throughout Pakistan, which is a priority area for the Government of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali.
It will also help in expansion of support industries like PET Bottle Manufacturing Plants and Packing Material Industries.
It will no doubt be a boost to our industry and economy and will be further support our National policy of faster economic development.
Only through industrialization we can solve the problems of poverty and unemployment.
The research organizations like PCSIR can play a vital role in this regard. The Beverages Sector has larger potential for faster growth of our economy. This sector could be developed more rapidly in order to feed other sectors of economy particularly the industrial sector.
I would like to congratulate Mr. M. A. Rehmani, Chairman of Marva Beverages (Pvt) Ltd for showing confidence in the abilities of PCSIR and for donating 20% of the profit for the development of education for the poor community. I am confident that it will prove to be a trend setter for the other industries.
