The Bangladeshi taka closed weaker on Monday after demand for the US currency rose to cover import-related payments, dealers said.
The taka was quoted at 59.00/59.20 per US dollar, against 59.00/59.15 on Sunday, a work-day in Bangladesh.
Call rates eased and ranged between 2.75 and 5.5 percent against 3.25 to 5.5 percent.
