First Deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy and Chairman Board of Governors of Nastogaz, Ukraine, Viadislov Tchern-yaveo, currently visiting Pakistan, held a meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, here on Wednesday.
Welcoming the Ukrainian dignitaries, Additional Secretary, Iftikhar Ahmed said there exists a lot of potential and opportunities for Ukrainian company, Nastogaz to invest in Pakistan's oil, gas and mineral sector.
He said the government was providing attracting package of incentives to prospective investors in offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration.
Terming the visit of Minister for Petroleum Nouraiz Shakoor in March last year to Ukraine as fruitful and successful, Iftikhar Ahmed said it has opened new avenues of Pak-Ukraine co-operation in the petroleum sector for mutual advantage.
He briefed the Ukrainian Deputy Minister on the ongoing oil, gas and mineral development activities and invited Nastogaz to participate in the oil and gas exploration, gas storage, gas infrastructure development, geological mapping and regional pipeline projects.
The Ukrainian Deputy Minister on the occasion said that Nastogaz has already entered into co-operation with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and both the companies would participate in the oil and gas exploration activities in Pakistan and abroad as joint venture.
He hoped that Ukrainian investors would take full advantage of investor friendly environment in petroleum sector of Pakistan.
