NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the matter of ban on the wheat transportation from Punjab would be resolved amicably.
Addressing inauguration ceremony of opening work on both sides of Kabul river near Charsadda Road Peshawar here on Saturday, he said we believes in national unity and solidarity in the national politics having no faith in the politics based on regionalism and nationalism.
The chief minister said for promotion of this belief I have talked to the government of Punjab to review its decision regarding ban on the movement of wheat. He said that the decision of Punjab would affect national unity.
Regarding provincial rights, the chief minister vowed that they would never compromised on rights of the province, saying under National Finance Commission (NFC) award net profit on hydel power generation is their constitutional right on which we would never bargained.
Durrani said that net profit on hydel generation is a disputed matter between provincial government and Wapda in which federal government is guarantor.
He said that it is fortunate for the NWFP that federal minister for water and power hails from this province.
He said that the resolution of the matter is depend on the sweet well of the federal minister for water and power, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.
