British High Commission is fully resuming its visa service in Islamabad from May 4, said British High Commissioner Mark Lyall on Saturday.
Talking to reporters after the launching of project on forced marriages here at Nomad Art Gallery, the British High Commissioner said the visa service would be resuming in its full in Islamabad, which was earlier halted due to security reasons regarding the 9/11 incident.
He said the High Commission was expecting 0.2 million Visa applications this year adding that the number of applications for Student Visa was increasing with time and previously, the British High Commission issued 3500 Student Visas last year.
The British High Commissioner said the overall visa refusal rate is about 60 percent whereas it increases up to 90 percent in case of Student Visa due to the attached fake documents or degrees from non-accredited educational institutions.
Mark Lyall said British High Commission had no agent or agency and the visas applications could only be submitted directly to the Commission.
He said an eight-member delegation of British Foreign Affairs Committee is due in Karachi in the second week of May.
