The former president of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Mian Muhammad Azhar; former speaker of National Assembly, Syed Fakhr Imam, and PML-N MNA Pervez Malik, flaying the raise in petroleum prices, have termed it government's anti-poor people step and to fulfil the global agenda.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, they said the new increase in petroleum prices would badly affect the everyday life causing price-hike of daily use items.
"The government has been following the agenda of its foreign patrons blindly, meant to crush the poor and involving the masses in vicious circle thus it could accomplish the given plan," they said.
Mian Azhar said: "Every passing day was increasing people's miseries and stamping on rulers' failure, therefore, all the politicians should shed differences and evolve a joint strategy to face internal and external challenges."
Fakhr Imam observed that the increase in petroleum prices was equal to killing the people and it would have direct implications on agriculture, masses and causing anarchy and instability.
Pervez Malik MNA said that during the last four years of Musharraf regime the prices index had gone many-fold up, which was evident that IMF, World Bank and USA agenda was being implemented irrespective of local considerations.
