The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Senior Vice-President, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman has called for taking necessary steps on priority basis, as environment in Pakistan is under threat due to day-by-day increasing pollution.
He stated this during a meeting with the Chief Technical Adviser of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Dr Robert G Gumman and Industrial Development Officer Ryuichi Oshima, says a press release issued here on Monday.
He called for implementing laws pertaining to environment and pollution in letter and spirit. He said that chemical elements hurting Ozone were usually used in refrigerators, freezers and foam manufacturing, adding that the domestic refrigerators are available without CFC and with CFC technology, but CFC refrigerators are dangerous for Ozone layer. He called for promotion of non-CFC refrigerators.
