The education, training and rehabilitation of special children are the joint responsibility of the society and extending every possible co-operation in this noble and welfare task was utmost necessary.
This was stated by EDO Revenue Syed Pervaiz Abbas while addressing the prize distribution ceremony and parents day of "Tanzeem-al-Lisaan" here on Thursday.
Resident Director Arts Council Asif Chaudhry; DOs Social Welfare Saeed Ahmad Aarbi, Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, social welfare officer Muhammad Ashraf, President Chamber of Commerce Mian Aftab Ahmad, President Tanzeem-al-Lisaan Iftikhar Ahmad, Vice President Shahid Pervaiz, other office-bearers, parents of special children, social workers and elite of the city were also present on this occasion.
EDO Revenue said that for making the mentally and physically disabled children the useful citizens of the society the scope of educational and medical facilities was required be expanded so that no child could be left without education, craft and skill.
He said that educating and coaching the special children was a difficult process but the members of different NGOs were performing this duty under the supervision of Tanzeem-al-Lisaan in such an appreciable manner as was a unique example of sympathy.
He assured to extend every possible co-operation for providing different facilities to the special children as well as solving the problems being faced by the welfare organisation.
Earlier, President of Chamber of Commerce, Mian Aftab Ahmad said that the special children deserved more care and attention as compared to normal children and the society should pay their due rights.
He lauded the social and welfare efforts being made by Tanzeem-al-Lisaan. Shahid Pervaiz of Lions Club announced to provide free medical service for the screening of the eyes of the special children.
Shedding light on the social services of his organisation, President Iftikhar Ahmad presented the report based on the curricular and extra-curricular activities of the special children.
EDO Revenue Syed Pervaiz Abbas, President Chamber of Commerce Mian Aftab Ahmad, Resident Director Faisalabad Arts Council Asif Chaudhry; DO Social Welfare Chaudhry Iqbal and Shahid Pervaiz of Lions club distributed prizes among the teachers and the special children achieving prominent positions in education and special Olympics.
