Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has asked the Sindh Industrial Trading Estates to provide quality infrastructure and services to industrial estates.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the balloting held for allotment of 139 industrial plots for which 5,000 applications were received.
The governor desired the Site Limited to arrange plots for the entire number of applicants in different phases.
He pointed out that establishment of new industries would contribute towards economic growth besides generating job opportunities in the province.
Congratulating the recipients of plots Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad told them to start construction work as soon as possible. He appreciated the efforts of Sindh Labour Minister Mohammad Adil Siddiqui, and acknowledged that it was due to his endeavour that the allotment process could complete in target times. Earlier speaking on the occasions, Adil Siddiqui said, "such a large number of applicants for industrial plots itself is a proof that industrialists have full confidence in the present government and they feel that the atmosphere is conducive for investment."
He appreciated the co-operation of Site Association, especially its chairman Nisar Shaikhani for his co-operation during all the stages of allotment.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Communication Babar Khan Ghouri hoped that industrialists would compete in production with other countries. He offered all co-operation in the developmental activities in the province.
The managing director Site Limited, Gul Mohammed Rind, presenting a brief about the allotment process, informed the gathering that the balloting was organised with the co-operation of National Bank of Pakistan to make the process transparent.
He said the Site Limited has been able to arrange 85 acres of land for new industries and future schemes.
