Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Saadatullah Khan has provided 25 motorcycles to Rawalpindi traffic police to ensure smooth operation and implementation of traffic rules in the area.
Earlier, Superintendent Police Traffic, Rawalpindi, Sabir Ahmed had informed the Punjab IGP about the shortage of motorcycles for traffic officials.
He also stated that shortage of motorcycles is main hurdle in better performance of traffic officials.
Taking immediate note of the request, the IGP has approved 25 motorcycles of 125cc for the traffic police. These motorcycles have been handed over to Rawalpindi traffic police and they will be distributed in different circles in order to fulfil the shortage.
Malik Matloob Awan, DSP Traffic, Rawalpindi, told reporters that Rawalpindi traffic police has received these motorcycles and it will enhance the operational capacity of the police and will help in reducing traffic violations.
