The president, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Adeel Rauf, has termed the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)'s decision on 50 percent commission margin for flour mill industry as unconstitutional.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, he said the flour millers are not stocking wheat for the purpose of hoarding, but for grinding, adding the flour mills are not liable for the condition of 50 percent margin.
He said they are not supporting hoarders and illegal profiteers but fully support action against any such person.
He, however, vowed that such kind of injustice with the flour mills of the province would not be tolerated.
Adeel Rauf demanded of the SBP to make amendment to the 50 percent margin condition in the larger interest of the flour mills of NWFP, but announce wheat credit policy.
He said the federal government constantly ignoring industrial development in NWFP, and protecting the industry of other federating units.
The Sarhad Chamber chief demanded of SBP Governor Dr Ishrat Hussain to withdraw the condition of 50 percent margin to provide protection to the flour mill industry of the Frontier province.
