Britain expressed the hope on Monday that the new Indian leadership, would remain committed, to peace talks with Pakistan to solve the outstanding issues between the two neighbours.
Talking to APP here, the spokesman for the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), said that talks between the two countries was necessary for the good of the peoples.
"We expect the new Indian government to remain fully committed to peaceful negotiations with Pakistan aimed at normalising relations and resolving all the outstanding differences for the benefit of the people of India and the whole South Asia," said the spokesman, while commenting on success of Italian-born Sonia Gandhi-led Congress party, in just concluded Indian general elections after defeating the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) of Atal Behari Vajpayee.
