Cash prizes and shields were given to the students of Punjab University, who won 26 gold medals in first All Pakistan Inter-University Games, organised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad.
Punjab University vice-chancellor Arshad Mehmood distributed the prizes. He also gave away prizes and shields to the winners of Madar-e-Millat awards in Qirat, Na'at Khawani, Iqbaliat, sports and for international achievement.
Former cricketers Fazal Mehmood and Imtiaz Ahmed were chief guests at the prize distribution ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazal Mehmood advised the young players to work hard and play game with determination.
