Fruit and vegetable industry promotion stressed

In order to ascertain the potential and constraints faced by the fruits processors with special reference to changing international scenario under the WTO regime, a meeting was held here at the head office of Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Board (PHDEB) on Monday.
The board's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shamoon Sadiq chaired the meeting while prominent fruit processors including Maqsood A. Ghauri, Mansur Ali Malik, Khizer Hayyat and others attended the meeting.
The meeting dwelt at length promotion of fruit and vegetable industry besides seeking solutions for constraints faced by the fruit processors.
It also embarked upon close liaison between the PHDEB and the fruit processors so that export of major horticulture produce especially of mango, citrus, potato and onion could be boosted.
