The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued contempt notice to Estate officer and directed him to explain as to why he ignored the court orders and issued notice to the petitioner, despite the stay issued by the court.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by Assistant Professor Robina Shareen praying to the court to direct the respondent to abstain from vacating official residence allotted earlier to her husband.
The petitioner contended that after retirement of her husband the respondent directed him to vacate the house but she approached him with prayer to allot the same residence to her for being government employee.
The respondent refused to allot the said residence to her and directed to vacate the same.
She, therefore, approached the court and got stay against the vacation. The petitioner approached the court again as the respondent even after stay order is directing to vacate the residence in question.
The respondent informed the court that he had not received the court orders and assured the court that he would not disturb the petitioner. The court, however, directed the respondent to reply the notice issued by the court and rose for the day.
